Hangul Pronunciation Finder
What it is
Hangul Pronunciation Finder is a quick-reference tool that shows the pronunciation cue for any single Korean consonant or vowel and clarifies the final-consonant (batchim) sound under standard rules. It accepts one character at a time and returns a simple, readable cue (e.g., ㄱ → [g], ㅏ → [a], ㅎ (final) → [t] or silent). It’s ideal for instant checks during reading and pronunciation practice.
Levels
Level 1 — Letters to Sounds (CV): Enter basic consonants or vowels and read the cue (e.g., ㄱ → [g], ㅕ → [yeo]).
Level 2 — Finals 101 (Batchim): Enter a final consonant to see its default coda value (e.g., ㄱ/ㄲ/ㅋ → [k], ㄹ → [l]).
Level 3 — Neutralization Awareness: Notice how several letters share the same final output (e.g., ㅅ/ㅆ/ㅈ/ㅊ/ㅌ/ㅎ → [t] or silent).
Level 4 — Contrast Building: Compare initial vs. final behavior for the same letter (e.g., ㄱ: [g] initially, [k] finally).
Level 5 — Reading Fluency: Use quick look-ups to stabilize decoding in longer words and sentences.
Note: The tool summarizes standard final-consonant outcomes; connected-speech variation and sandhi are not fully modeled.

What You’ll Gain
Letter–sound clarity: Instant cues for individual consonants and vowels.
Batchim literacy: Solid understanding of how final consonants neutralize (e.g., many → [t]).
Reading confidence: Fewer stalls when decoding new words—look up, say it, move on.
Error awareness: Catch typos and non-Hangul inputs quickly.
Consistent practice: A simple workflow for daily pronunciation warm-ups.
Pro Tips
Drill pairs to feel position changes (e.g., ㄱ vs. final ㄱ).
Memorize the big three final groups:
ㄱ/ㄲ/ㅋ → [k]
ㅂ/ㅍ → [p]
ㅅ/ㅆ/ㅈ/ㅊ/ㅌ/ㅎ → [t] (or silent for ㅎ, context-dependent)
Use Enter to submit quickly; Clear to re-enter the next character.
Keep a short list of tricky letters and cycle through them daily.
Pair with reading: when a word stalls you, isolate the letter, check it, then return to the word.
One-Line Summary
Look up any Hangul consonant, vowel, or final and get a clear, standard pronunciation cue—perfect for fast checks and confident reading.
